Article History Received: 01 Month Year Accepted: 01 Month Year The present paper examines the potential of Augmented Reality (AR) technology to enhance the reading skills of fourth-grade learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) within the context of Greek primary education. The paper aims to present a comprehensive account of the research design, while establishing a solid theoretical and pedagogical framework based on the current educational technology literature. A detailed review of existing studies on AR in language learning contextualizes the research, highlighting both its innovative dimensions and its relevance to contemporary teaching EFL (TEFL) practices. The methodology section outlines the sample selection, research instruments, and procedures employed. Key findings are then presented and discussed, demonstrating that AR integration can significantly support the development of young learners’ reading comprehension. The discussion also explores how AR can foster greater learner engagement and motivation. Finally, the paper acknowledges the limitations of the study and offers targeted recommendations for future research, with a focus on expanding the application of AR tools in diverse foreign language learning environments.
